No, we charge by the actual retail weight of the packaged cuts instead of the hanging weight. We do this since it is more efficient for our butcher to cut and package all the goats harvested at one time instead of doing each goat one at a time. When we bring the meat back to the farm, we sort it for each order, as well as for our online store inventory.
You'll place your pre-order and pay your deposit to secure your whole goat. Once we get the meat back from the butcher we will pack orders and bill your account online with the final amount based on the total amount of meat. Your deposit amount will be deducted from this amount. The deposit is non-refundable.
Since our credit card processor, Stripe, keeps your card securely "on file" we will make this final charge. We never have access to your actual credit card information since the payment transaction is managed on their end throughout website platform. There's no need to remember to come back and make the final payment on your end. You'll receive an email confirmation about your whole goat order amount and then a second email from Stripe with a payment receipt. This will happen within a week of your shipment date or the local pick up day.
Your goat meat order is shipped frozen and carefully packed in an insulated mailer or a box with an insulated liner, both have a high insulation value, with dry ice or a gel pack depending on your location.
Your order is then shipped for delivery within a 1- to 2-day timeframe via UPS. Based on your location shipping may be ground or two-day air.
Shipping rates are available to the lower 48 states. Hawaii and Alaska customers can contact us by email for a shipping quote.

Unfortunately, no. It takes a lot of time to prepare orders, so it works best for our small family farm to have the pick up happen on one planned date. If you are unable to pick up your order, you can send someone in your place. Please have them bring along a copy of your order confirmation or a digital copy on their phone. Your final order confirmation will also include pick up specific instructions.
Due to COVID-19, we will also continue to be managing our pickups with minimal contact as possible. We will follow up with pickup orders by email to select from a designated pickup time slot to minimize extra contact with other customers.
Right now we are offering this whole goat special sale one time a year. There may be options to purchase a whole goat other times of the year, but it may not be at this special pricing opportunity. We also offer other bulk savings opportunities outside of a whole goat.
As our farm grows, we plan to eventually offer this sale two times a year.
No, the deposit is non-refundable. The deposit allows us to plan ahead for your custom order.
Right now we do not offer a half goat option since the amount of meat is minimal, about 12-15 lbs. It may be something we consider in the future, but for now it isn't an option. We do offer other bulk savings opportunities with box and bundle specials throughout the year.
